I never realized how crazy I was…

I just discovered this draft on my site and I decided it was too random not to post. It was from the first weeks of school. I hope you don’t think I’m too crazy…

My name is Marissa, also known as Rissa, Maribel, Cheerio, and sometimes Dani. I’m sitting here next to Laura and Jade, my best friends. Jade can’t get her e-mail to work and she’s sad, and her toe hurts. Laura is typing away next to me and I hope she’s not writing anything bad about me. I may seem really random but there is a method to my madness. Laura just wrote that I was her best friend, I feel special. Jade keeps laughing at me because “I’m strange”. I’m glad she finally figured that one out. She says she loves me anyways, which is a good thing I guess. I miss the old high school a lot these days, especially our “hippie circle” outside on the front lawn. Jade and I would sing and people would look at us like we were weird. I hope everyone already knows that I am strange because they probably will after reading this. Jade said “It’s all good”, which is a philosophy everyone should live by. I’m glad I got words of wisdom into this, thank you Jade. Alright, I guess this can not get more random unless I break out into song so I’ll just stop writing now.

Laura and the snow

Laura is writing a post about the snow. If you are reading this you should stop and go check it out. If you don’t want to go look at it, then continue reading, but I know who you are and where you live; be warned. Anyways…I generally love snow, but not when I’m stuck inside at school watching it as I do my schoolwork. Oh no, she’s writing an ode now, maybe you shouldn’t go check out her new post. I wish I could go home, fix some hot chocolate, and watch christmas movies or read a book all day. That would be my idea of the perfect day I think. Alas, I am stuck here until three because there is a play meeting tonight.

Stage Fright

Frantically flying about the small room,

I tried to prepare for my moment of doom.

Nightly and frightfully I ran to my spot,

awaiting the moment my breath would be caught.

The curtain would rise, and to my surprise,

this perfromance would not bring about my demise.

The tapping of shoes, the snapping of fingers,

the music I danced to made the audience linger.

Then reluctantly renewing my last bows on stage,

I realized my nerves were no longer my cage.

The faces I saw in seats below and above me,

were only of people who care about and love me.

The boos and the jeers I had originally expected,

were renewed and replaced with the praise I accepted.

When I was young

When I was young

there were a lot more hours in the day

Swimming on lazy afternoons

homemade ice cream

Sesame Street and sleepovers

The most important memories I have.

Heroes came in all packages

most of them lived on T.V.

Big Bird and Winnie the Pooh

They were who I wanted to be when I grew up.

School was mostly for fun

Playing with blocks

Oregon Trail and saying my ABC’s

were hard work back then.

Trouble was my middle name

Time outs and sitting in the corner

These were my punishments

I mostly learned my lessons

When I was young.

Not just another Junior

My name is Marissa, also known as Rissa, Dani, Cheerio, or sometimes “Hey You”. If you didn’t catch it from the title, I am a Junior at Ironton High School . I wrote an interesting post to put on here but it is way to random to start my blogs with. I will, however, work excerpts from it into future blogs. There are only a few people who know the real me, but I suppose that a few details will help you distinguish me from other Juniors out there in the blogging world.

If you already can’t tell, I am very random and I tend to surprise people with how crazy I actually am. I am one of those weird people who love to read and will argue about whether a book is good or not. My favorite book of all time is definately Jane Eyre, but any book by Scott Westerfeld or Gregory Macguire would come in a close second . I am also obsessed with Broadway musicals and can probably tell you the casts of most musicals out there. My favorite musical at this time is Spring Awakening, but I am also a big fan of Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, and The Drowsy Chaperone. Music is my life. I can’t go a day without singing or listening to my IPod. My friends know that there usually isn’t a day when I don’t break into song or, at least, have a tune stuck in my head. I am also a “couch potato” and can never get enough of Lifetime movies or television shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Gilmore Girls.

This is only a tiny part of who I am and what my life is like on a daily basis. I hope, as I keep blogging, that you will get to know a lot more about me.
